Mayor’s office launches new website for public input on the search for a new Police Chief

City of Seattle Police DepartmentThe Mayor’s office today launched a new website to gather public input on what qualities the Mayor should be looking for in a new Police Chief for the Seattle Police Department. Input from community members and police officers is critical to helping us find a Police Chief that is the best fit for Seattle residents and the Seattle Police Department.

The site asks four questions, three of them open-ended, including:

Public input will be collected from the site — spdchiefsearch.com — and from our dedicated email address — chiefsearchinfo@seattle.gov — through February 6, 2014. The Mayor’s Police Chief Search Committee and Community Advisory Committee will then consider the public’s input and make final recommendations to the Mayor.

In addition to our digital outreach process, we’re also reaching out through community workshops we are holding in multiple Seattle neighborhoods starting January 28 – February 6, 2014. We hope you can join us to learn more about our process and to give us your input!
