Mayor-Elect Ed Murray Names New Director of Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Press Secretary

Murray names director of Office of Intergovernmental Relations, press secretary

SEATTLE – Mayor-elect Ed Murray made two additional key hires to his administration today, naming Nick Harper as director of the Office of Intergovernmental Relations, and Rosalind Brazel as press secretary.

Harper, an attorney, currently works at Adams & Duncan, Inc. P.S., a law firm in Everett. He previously represented the 38th Legislative District in the state Senate, where, in 2013, he served as Deputy Leader of the Democratic Caucus. Harper worked for the Cascade Land Conservancy as Snohomish County Conversation Director, and was also the Government Affairs Director for the Snohomish County-Camano Association of Realtors. Harper is a graduate of the University of Washington and the Seattle University School of Law.

Brazel is currently a project account coordinator at The Feary Group, a Seattle public relations and public affairs firm, and is also coordinator of communications, media relations and public relations for etsyRAIN, a group of artisans and craft-makers who operate independent shops in Western Washington. She was previously at writer and producer at KIRO TV in Seattle, and an anchor and reporter at KTAL TV in Shreveport, LA. Brazel is a graduate of Washington State University.

Harper will earn $140,000 annually. Brazel will earn $95,000 annually.
